Tantrums and film stars are never far apart. But this one takes the cake with the bakery. Shah Rukh Khan is said to have bumped into a respected director in a party. God knows whether or not he was high — by which we mean in the Devdas mode — but what he suggested to this gentleman can drive many haywire.

The director had walked up to Shah Rukh dressed in a white shirt at around midnight and asked him whether or not he had a little time to hear a new script. "Young man," he said in his typically affectionate way, "I have a great story which you might like to do after you are through with your present commitments." With the sound of music burying most of what he had said, all Shah Rukh managed to hear (or, so we hear!) is "a great story." He gave a pat on the back of the gentleman who is more than a decade older, and said: "Yes, boss why not? But I have a condition."

The director`s eye lit up. "What is that?" "Hey, you must come in a black shirt in the afternoon and narrate the story to me. That is a must." Saying this, he walked off, leaving the director utterly confused. The director did not know whether to laugh or to cry. We do not know whether or not it is a good joke, or if that one indeed is a joke at all. But then, not many manage to comprehend this Khan`s sense of humour. That includes, yep, Shah Rukh himself!
